Travelgram Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

This policy applies to the Travelgram mobile application and related services provided by Travelgram AI Inc. For questions, contact support@travelgram.io.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Travelgram AI Inc., a Delaware corporation, with registered office at 1111b South Governors Ave Ste 82832, Dover, DE 19904, United States ("Travelgram," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Travelgram mobile application and related services (the "Service").

This policy applies to all users of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

2.3 Photo Library and Location Metadata

The Travel Tracker feature may ask for access to your device photo library so we can detect the countries you have visited based on the location metadata embedded in your photos. We do not upload or store your photos themselves. We only process the location metadata necessary to identify visited countries. See Section 5 for details.

2.4 Contacts

If you opt to find friends using your device contacts, we access your device contacts solely to match their phone numbers against Travelgram accounts and invite them as trip companions. We do not store your contact list. We process only the phone numbers needed to perform the match at the moment you use this feature. See Section 5 for details.

2.5 Microphone and Speech Recognition

The AI travel assistant may ask for access to your device microphone so you can speak your questions aloud. Your spoken input is used only to transcribe your request into text so we can respond to it. We do not retain recordings of your voice.

2.6 Camera

Where you choose to take a profile photo or trip photo with your device camera, the photo may be stored as part of your profile or trip content.

2.7 Screen Recording

To create shareable travel map cards, we may capture a screen recording of the map card while you generate it. This recording is generated at your request, used only to produce the shareable card, and is not used to monitor your general app usage.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Create and manage your account, authenticate you, and keep you logged in;
  2. Provide, personalize, and improve the Service (trip planning, itineraries, travel tracker, country guides, and share cards), including analyzing usage through Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with the app;
  3. Generate your shareable travel map cards, which display your name, avatar, and travel statistics to the recipients you choose;
  4. Respond to your feedback and support requests;
  5. Ensure the security and integrity of the Service and investigate misuse;
  6. Comply with legal obligations; and
  7. Send you service-related communications (for example, about changes to these terms or to the Service). We do not send marketing emails.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  1. Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you requested and administer your account;
  2. Legitimate interests — to improve the Service, ensure its security, and prevent abuse, where our interests are not overridden by your rights;
  3. Consent — where we process device permissions (photo library, contacts, microphone, camera, or location) or other data that requires your consent, which you may withdraw at any time;
  4. Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with applicable law.

5. Device Permissions and Location Data

  1. Photo library: When you grant the Service access to your photo library, we analyze the location metadata embedded in your photos to detect the countries you have visited. This analysis happens on the basis of the permission you grant and may involve sending the location metadata to our servers for processing. We use this data only to detect and display visited countries in your Travel Tracker. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose. You may revoke photo library access at any time through your device settings.
  2. Contacts: When you choose to find friends from your contacts, we access your device contacts only to match phone numbers against Travelgram accounts and to invite companions. We do not store your contact list. You may revoke contact access at any time through your device settings.
  3. Microphone and speech recognition: When you use voice input with the AI travel assistant, we process your spoken request only to transcribe it into text and respond. We do not retain voice recordings.
  4. Camera: When you take a profile or trip photo with your device camera, the photo may be stored as part of your profile or trip content.
  5. Location: Where you use maps or location-based trip features, we may access your approximate or precise device location (with your permission) to provide relevant results.
  6. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to grant us access to the photos or contacts you import.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  1. Service providers: With third-party providers that help us operate the Service, including:
  2. Trip companions: If you join a shared trip via an invite code, the trip's content (including spot notes) is visible to the owner and companions of that trip.
  3. Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  4. Business transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

Specifically:

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted password storage, secure transmission (TLS) of data between your device and our servers, and access controls on our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  1. Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  2. Correction: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  3. Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  4. Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data.
  5. Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  6. Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  7. Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, photo library access), at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@travelgram.io. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at support@travelgram.io and we will delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where our service providers are located. If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data-transfer restrictions, we will take appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your data when it is transferred internationally.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
